#MMC100 Trophy Tour Stop 7: Quebec City, Quebec
The Canadian Hockey League’s 100th Mastercard Memorial Cup celebrations continued this past week in Quebec City, the seventh stop on a season long tour visiting 17 CHL communities in eight different provinces.
Quebec City was the first of two scheduled stops in la Belle Province in January with the tour scheduled to visit Chicoutimi on January 20. Quebec is home to the 1971 and 2006 Mastercard Memorial Cup champion Remparts while the city most recently hosted the 2015 event at Le Colisee before opening the beautiful new Centre Videotron for the 2015-16 season.
On Saturday the Memorial Cup was on display as the Remparts hosted the Sherbrooke Phoenix. Members of the Canadian Armed Forces were on hand as part of the pre-game ceremonies, and fans had the opportunity to take pictures alongside the Memorial Cup and receive autographs from 2006 champion Kevin Desfosses.
On Tuesday the team, joined by mascot Champion, visited Centre hospitalier de l’Université Laval and brought the Memorial Cup to help brighten the day for many young patients.
